South West Profiles
A super region, which suffers a lack of identity I think, comprising the Bordeauxesque vineyards of the Dordogne, their cousins in Lot, distant relatives at Côtes du Frontonnais in Haute Garonne and what must be the missing link - Madiran, Jurancon and Irouleguy - sitting on the border with Spain.
- L'Ancienne Cure (11/7/05) Super Monbazillac and Bergerac from Christian Roche.
- Chateau Bouscasse (30/5/05) Fine Madiran estate, run by Alain Brumont.
- Domaine Cauhapé (24/10/05, updated 25/7/07) Stunning wines from Henri Ramonteu.
- Chateau du Cédre (27/6/05) Home to Pascal & Jean-Marc Verhaeghe.
- Chateau Montus (16/8/05) Alain Brumont's other leading domaine.
- Domaine Mouréou & Chapelle L'Enclos (20/6/05) Madiran from Patrick Ducourneau.
- Domaine Pichard (13/6/05) Good Madiran from Auguste Vigneau.
- Tour des Gendres (29/8/05) Top local estate run by Luc de Conti & family.
- Clos Triguedina (27/1/05) Ancient and respected family-owned domaine in Cahors.
- Clos Uroulat (19/9/05) Top Jurançon estate run by Charles Hours.
