Cheval Blanc and Yquem Dinner with Pierre Lurton

In just a week or two, in early June, Bibendum are playing host to Pierre Lurton, manager of both Cheval-Blanc and Yquem, for two fabulous winemaker dinners. The first is in London on June 2nd, but at Pierre Lurton's request the second event is in Scotland. So on June 3rd the Bibendum team, with Pierre Lurton in tow, will be descending upon Edinburgh for a slap-up dinner at Home House on Picardy Place. And we're all invited.

This will be a small, intimate dinner and a wonderful chance to meet the man who heads up both these legendary chateaux, for a wonderful wine dinner starring these two stellar First Growths. This promises to be an unmissable event, as we line-up a mouthwatering array of vintages including the legendary 99 pointer, 1988 d'Yquem.

The mouthwatering line-up of wines also includes the rare Y de Yquem 2005, Petit Cheval 2001, Cheval Blanc 2004, 1996 and 1989 (the latter from magnums), and d'Yquem 1997. We will match the wines to a specially designed menu created by the team at Home House in Edinburgh.

Having previously attended a vertical tasting of Yquem led by Pierre, I know he is charming, witty and very humble despite his exalted position in Bordeaux. It promises to be a great and I am sure a most convivial event, and it is an opportunity not to be missed in my opinion. I will be there on the night - I hope to see you there too! (21/5/08)
