Prà Soave Classico Superiore 2001

Prà Soave Classico Superiore (Veneto, Italy) 2001: The Prà brothers,
Sergio and Graziano, run one of the top estates of Soave. Their unoaked cru
Monte Grande recently featured in my weekly Taste of Italy feature. This
is their more basic Classico Superiore cuvée. A fairly pale wine. Good aromas on
the nose, which has white fruits rubbed on stones and minerals, with a
suggestion of a creamy, bready richness. This comes through on the palate, which has a
lees-influenced flavour profile and texture. Fresh acidity buoys up a full,
mineral-laced palate which has a creamy edge. 16.5/20 (11/7/03)
